Aspen Vistas

Photobucket
Saturday we headed up to Santa Fe to see the aspen trees. We were worried that maybe we had missed thier peak color- but no. It was gorgeous! The mountains were dusted with snow and the leaves shimmered gold in the sun. I was in photo heaven. again. So get ready for a LOT of pics of trees!

Photobucket A fall pic in new mex? No way! This was in the entrance to the aquarium/ botanical gardens. They were both awesome.

Gabe enjoyed the rays.

We could've just skipped the whole aquarium and watched the swan if it were up to gabe. He's really into ducks, if you couldn't tell already. Fear not, there are many more duck pics to come. (i know you're all thrilled).

my favorite fish. it was mistakenly labeled a french angel fish. false. That's a juvenile queen angel, prettiest fish in the ocean.

Gabe made freinds with another lil' guy.

This is the french angel, in case you were dying of curiousity. Clearly not the queen. After hours of hard-core snorkeling with my parentals (and they mean hard core; as in 4 hrs straight and total body prune-age hard core), i know my angel fish.

we had to stop and smell the roses.

we also had to kiss them.
wait for it...
Photobucket
full on rose-kiss! we're gonna have to watch this guy when he goes to school!

I'll take this as my backyard please.

I warned you about more duck pics. But how could i resist? They came right up to us, and since i'm now a mom (which means a constant supply of cheerios)..we could feed the ducks. Gabe would've sat there all day throwing cheerios at the poor ducks.

Old town. Another fav of mine in ABQ

This bear was sitting outside a chocolate shop in old town. Gabe was obsessed with laying on it and kissing it.

This morning was actually cool and overcast (a rarity in new mex) so i was able to see the aspen groves in the mountains (they're the patches of yellow in the top). The groves have been washed out from the sunshine every other day so far.

It was finally cold enough to put Gabe in this. It's totally awesome. We'll have to take a mexican family photo and we'll all wear our drug rugs and eat beans and tortillas. I'm not profiling or anything. That's all. Life's good. A week till we see NUlkie, Can Not Wait!!!
