New stroller adventures

My parents and I went and picked out a little walking stroller for Gabe. Here are some pics from a walk we took yesterday- it was gorgeous here, high seventies and sunny. He was dressed in his "daddy's little cowboy" outfit to give a shout out to daddy. Today we went to Still house Lake with Gabe and the dogs. Gabe does great in the stroller, it puts him right to sleep! We walked around a little island with the dogs- they had a blast because i took them off leash and let them run free and swim. Bella even chased after a duck in the water! She swam pretty far until she decided she;d had enough. She was actually closing in on it. Winsty started to chase the duck but gave up rather quickly. The last few pics are of Gabe in tummy time with his new casts on. The ortho casted him Tuesday so we can fix his feet right away. The casts have to go all the way up the legs becasue babies can kick them off if they're only on the feet. He's a real trooper about them though. We love you Michael!

Welcome Gabriel Michael Nulk

Welcome Gabriel!!! Gabriel arrived via c-section on Jan 16th at 9:52 am. He was 7lbs 10oz and 21 3.4 inches long. He's perfect! We are so happy to finally have him here. Yesterday he was 3 weeks old, I can't believe how much he's grown, developed and changed since then. With the joyous arrival of Gabriel also brings the sadness of Mike's deployment, he left on jan. 4th for his 1 yr tour in Iraq. It is very hard to have our family separated so abruptly, and so soon after Gabriel's birth. Michael has the precious memories of the first few weeks to keep him going. And this blog. I'll be posting a ton of pics for Michael to enjoy from halfway around the world! Here are my parent's visiting, gabe @ 3 weeks, him in his hooded towel after bath time, tummy time with winsty, bouncy time and hanging in the beautiful cradle his daddy made him! Michael I hope you like the updated location for the cradle :) I moved it to the family room.

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving! Mike & Ashley drove up 9 hrs to spend the holidays with us and it was really fun catching up with them- We haven't seen them since last Christmas! Michael & I successfully cooked our first turkey (smoked, and it turned out delicious) and a combination of Pilon/Nulk traditional sides. Then we went to Michael's commander's house for dessert and played trivial pursuit for hrs. The next day we spent hanging out with Mike and Ashley, just visiting, playing the Wii, and then we went mini golfing and out for hibachi. Mike & Mike won some games at the arcade in the mini golf place and turned in their tickets for little washable tattoos. So Michael decided he had to tattoo my belly and take a pic! So here is my enormous 8-month belly with Michael's tattoos. On Saturday Michael made a big pancake breakfast and then our friends had to head back to kansas- We were sorry to see them go! All in all it's been a very relaxing holiday! I bought some bandannas for the doggies, above is a picture of Bella showing it off. Needless to say the dogs were not too excited about the bandannas and stood frozen until we took them off. We used our china and crystal and nambe bowls for the first time, it was very exciting. I'll leave you with some pictures from the weekend. Only 23 days till people start coming for Christmas, Michael & I can hardly wait!

30 Week Ultrasound

I had an ultrasound yesterday morning to check on the baby. Every looks good according to the ultrasound technician. He was curled up in a ball the whole time- literally his feet were above his head! He's very flexible right now. We got a couple cute pictures of him- his face is starting to look more like baby, with little chubby cheeks rather than just a skeleton. He had his hands on his face most of the time, and he was sucking on his fingers too. You can see him sucking on the fingers in the profile shot above. Apparently this guy is above average in size for weight, but whose surprised by that?- he's 3 pounds 11 ounces which is in the 75th percentile for weight at 30 weeks or something like that. It was really fun for Mike and I to get to see him again before he comes out! He got the hiccups for awhile which was cute. Anyways enjoy pics, if you click on them they enlarge.
